The invention relates to a collector/storage assembly for heating water by solar energy. The collector/storage assembly comprises a lagged tank 10 for storing the hot water, at least a portion of the tank's vertical lateral wall or dividing wall 16 is provided with means 19 allowing heat exchange with the outside environment, and a solar energy collector 20 applied in contact against the said dividing wall, so that the heat transfer fluid of the collector may release its heat to the tank, the tank and collector assembly being mounted outside of the premises to which hot water is to be supplied. <IMAGE>
