<p>PURPOSE:To produce the titled substance having high quality, under mild condition, by reacting 4-hydroxyphthalic anhydride and/or 4-hydroxyphthalic acid with urea at about room temperature in the presence of an inert organic solvent immiscible with water. CONSTITUTION:The titled substance can be produced by reacting 4- hydroxyphthalic anhydride and/or 4-hydroxyphthalic acid with urea in an inert organic solvent. Any organic solvent used in conventional organic synthetic reaction, e.g. aromatic hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons, ketones, ethers, N-containing compounds (e.g. quinoline, pyrrolidone, etc.) may be used as the above organic solvent. Preferably, the solvent is immiscible with water at about room temperature, enables the removal of distilled out water by phase-separation with refluxing condenser during the reaction and has relatively high boiling point. EFFECT:Since there is no agglomeration of the reaction products during the reaction, high dispersibility can be maintained, and the product can be obtained in the form of crystalline powder. USE:Raw material of pigment, pharmaceuticals, or heat-resistant polymeric material.</p> |
