The invention relates to a partition constituting both one of the partitions of a room of a house and a piece of furniture for resting. This partition is characterised in that it comprises at least one flap (fold-down panel) actuated by control means 20, 21 and pivoting around a horizontal axis, the longitudinal edge 60, 68 projecting outside of the partition 1 being supported by rests 54, 55 determining a support polygon with the partition 1 held by telescopic means 8 to 11.
