<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the mechanical strength, packing bulk density and ability to adsorb nitrogen of the titled adsorbent for air separation by forming said adsorbent with a composition consisting of a Ca-X type zeolite and a Ca-A type one. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting of Na-X zeolite powder, Na-A zeolite powder and inorg. binder is molded. This molded product is brought into contact with an aq. soln. of Ca salt to carry out an ion exchange, then dried and calcined to form said adsorbent. The higher the rate of Na-A/Na-X becomes, the lower the amt. of adsorbed nitrogen becomes and the higher the packing bulk density becomes. The treatment of activation caused by calcination is carried out enough by heating the blowing air passed simply through the zeolite layer at about 200-450 deg.C at about 5m/min flow rate for about 2hr.</p> |
