PURPOSE:To improve productivity by easily mounting and demounting the tool rest of a machine tool having an opposed type main shaft from a cross slide, thus facilitating the preparatory work outside the machine of the tool rest. CONSTITUTION:A cross slide 21 is installed in slidable ways in the X-axis direction onto the front surface of a gate-shaped base 5, and a tool rest 22 is installed in demountable ways through a coupling 50 onto the front surface of the cross slide 21, A tool holder 51 is screwed by a bolt 52 at the top edge of the tool rest 22, and a plurality of tools 53a-53f are arranged onto the holder 51. The mounting and demounting of the tool rest 22 from the cross slide 21 can be carried-out simply by hydraulic pressure. Therefore, the preparatory work outside the machine of the tool rest is facilitated, and productivity can be improved. |
