PURPOSE:To adjust shift of a position with high accuracy by means of small sized hardware by applying the position shift with coarse adjustment at first between picture elements corresponding two pattern data, then applying the position shift with precise adjustment with high resolution based on the result. CONSTITUTION:A position shift coarse detector 14 of a position shift coarse adjusting section 1 obtains a relative position shift from data B1, A1 in all the range stored in shift register groups 13a, 13b among reference data B and detection pattern data A having an X direction scanning with H inputted to the section 1, supplies coarse adjustment by using a position shift coarse correcting device 15 when the data B1, A1 are outputted from the register groups 13a, 13b based on the result, and the same operation is supplied sequentially in real time to the next data B2, A2. A position shift precise detector 17 of a position shift adjusting section 2 obtains a relative remaining a position shift to the data B1, A1 in shift register groups 16a, 16b among the pattern data B, A adjusted by the adjusting section 1 in the similar procedure for one picture element resolution, precise adjustment is issued by a position shift precise correcting device 18 in a real time based on the result. |
