For the purpose of irradiating and therapeutically changing blood and other endogenous or exogenous substances with UV light a container is used which permits foaming to be carried out simultaneously with the irradiation. The container, which consists of glass, plastic or another material, can furthermore be used simultaneously for retransfusion of blood or other endogenous and exogenous substances. The containers are predominantly used in human and veterinary medicine.
