NOVEL RECOMBINED DNA

PURPOSE:A DNA containing objective genetic information is inserted in the position on a bacteriophage DNA where a specific endonuclease cleaves the chain to enable the biosynthesis of the objective substance in cell bodies in a large amount without inhibition of the proliferation of lysogens. CONSTITUTION:A DNA carrying an objective genetic information is inserted in the cleavage position by an endonuclease between the downstream of the anaphase promotor and the adhesive terminal on a bacteriophage DNA under control of DNA sequence necessary for genetic translation to give a novel recombinant DNA. A lysogen which is obtained by transduction into the host of an enterobacterium using a bacteriophase containing the resultant recombinant DNA is cultured to effect the proliferation of cell bodies without inhibition by genetic products. After induction, a specific protein is bio- synthesized in a large amount.
