Lead accumulator battery having accumulator plates comprising lead or a lead alloy and active-material layers which are in close contact with the accumulator plates. The active-material layers are formed integrally with the accumulator plates by applying a mixture in the form of a slurry, comprising an active-material powder and a liquid, supplied to the accumulator plates and then drying the mixture.
