The invention relates to a thread-loop control arrangement of a sewing machine having a horizontal gripper, which has the aim of providing an arrangement with a thread-loop control element, in order, in conjunction with thread regulation, to increase further the reliability of the seam-forming process. Moreover, the solution is to be capable of being put into practice and produced economically by few technical means. By means of a thread-loop control element, the thread-loop regulation is carried out in such a way that the regulating effect occurs as early as directly behind the holding finger of the oscillating carrier in the thread draw-off region of the horizontal gripper. According to the invention, the guide face of the guide track in the fourth quadrant of the horizontal gripper forms, on the bobbin carrier, two faces which are connected in a step-like manner. The thread-loop control element is arranged parallel to these faces and with a clearance for air round the thread and is provided in a step-like manner with a guide face. The guide face is formed on the thread-loop control element at a distance from the guide face corresponding to the width for the holding finger and extends in the direction of the oscillating movement of the holding finger. <IMAGE>
