In the case of electrical heating inserts, in the case of which the heating coil is arranged in an exposed manner, by means of a plurality of insulating connecting elements or supporting elements, on a carrier part of the insert, a considerable amount of manual work is required in order to install the heating inserts. This is because the connecting elements or supporting elements (which generally consist of ceramic) are highly susceptible to fracture and to a large extent also have relatively large dimensional tolerances, that is to say have properties which would make mechanical installation very difficult. Furthermore, it must be taken into account that the heating coil itself is very unstable. In order to solve these problems and to enable mechanical and hence cost-effective manufacture of such heating inserts, the invention proposes that the insulating supports which carry the heating coil be integrally formed in one pressing process directly on the carrier part of the heating insert, from a curable ceramic mixture. <IMAGE>
