Covering for tennis courts or sports arenas subjected to similar stresses, which covering has, at least on its surface, a loosely scattered layer containing plastics particles, characterized in that the loosely scattered layer is applied to an at least essentially plane firm base and consists, at least for the greatest part, of platelet-shaped or flake-shaped particles of an elastic plastic based on a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer and/or based on a one- or two- component polyurethane system and/or based on a thermoplastic rubber and/or based on a modified PVC compound.
