The subject matter of the invention is a portable electric circular saw with chip-breaker ribs arranged in the saw housing, a chip-discharge opening, which is made in the saw housing and into which the chips pass due to the air flow produced by the fan of the drive motor, and also a swing guard, which is rotatably mounted on the boss of the saw housing and is under the action of a restoring spring, and a splitting wedge. The object of the invention is to improve the removal of the chips accumulating during the sawing towards the chip-discharge opening.
