PURPOSE:To increase a dynamic range without spoiling resolving capacity, by increasing a length ratio of long-length single-mode and short-length single- mode optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A beam of light from the source is divided into clockwise and counterclockwise rotating beams by a beam dividing and composing apparatus 2 and these 2 beams are irradiated to long-length single-mode 5 and short-length single-mode optical fibers 6 alternately by switches 4, 7. The clockwise rotating beam and the counter clock wise rotating beam after passing through the same optical fiber 5 or the fiber 6 are composed by the apparatus 2 for generation of light interference. A computing processing circuit 13 introduces as an input an output obtained by photoelectric conversion of the interference light from the apparatus 2 and by changing the processing method depending on which one of the single-mode optical fibers was transmitted by the light, an input angular velocity is calculated for feeding and he beam switch driving circuit is controlled. |
