PURPOSE:To make the combination of each element in basic cell lines and input-output buffers possible, by a method wherein a wiring channel area is formed at the periphery of the input-output buffers in which element of different kinds with basic cell lines are formed. CONSTITUTION:In a semiconductor device, for instance in a gate alley 1, may basic cell lines 3 which are arranged parallel at the central part of a main surface of a semiconductor element chip 2, are provided, and at the periphery of them input-output buffers 4, and, furthermore, at the periphery of them bonding pads 5 are arranged respectively. A wiring channel area 6 is formed between basic cell lines 3, and also a wring channel area 6 is formed between basic cell lines 3, and also a wiring channel area 6 is formed between input- output buffers 4 mutually and between input-output buffers 4 and bonding pads 5. Accordingly, a wiring channel area 6 is formed also in the circumference of input-output buffers 4, and since circuits are composed freely combining elements in the input-output buffers 4 and gates with elements in the basic cell lines 3 and gates, the combination of different elements of the basic cell lines 3 and the input-output buffers 4 respectively becomes possible, and a logic gate with many functions can be composed. |
