PURPOSE:To collect originals of different sizes under a correlated condition without deteriorating the operability of the opening/closing works of an original carrying section, by setting an original discharging tray at the collecting position at the time of manual operation and moving the tray to the exposure position at the time of automatic operation. CONSTITUTION:If manual operation is selected when an original discharging tray 11 is at the exposure position, a motor 15 is rotated in the direction shown by the arrow B and the tray 11 is rotated in the direction F and reaches the collecting position as a rack gear 14 moves in the direction D. When automatic operation is selected thereafter, the motor 15 is rotated in the direction A and the tray 11 is rotated in the direction E and stops at the exposure position. Therefore, when the manual operation is selected, the tray 11 is set to a condition where its upper surface is set in the same plane as the upper surface of an original carrying section 1b so that the tray 11 cannot interfere with the carrying operation of the original carrying section 1b and, when the automatic operation is selected, rear edges of originals are brought into contact with an end section 11b and originals of different sizes can be collected under a correlated condition.
