In the case of a chain joint for chains which have links and consist of oval chain links, sprung stops or blocking surfaces are provided which prevent the longitudinal limbs of the chain links which are connected to the chain joint entering the unobstructed internal spaces of said chain joint, and thus eliminate the risk of kinking.
