A device for applying products for body care and beauty, in particular sun oil or a cream, having an applicator element arranged at the end of a rod-type handle, is to be constructed in such a way that oils or creams containing grease, in particular, can also be applied to parts of the human body which are relatively inaccessible. Furthermore, the device is also to allow the possibility of achieving a certain massage effect. For this purpose, a cylinder (30) or similar body consisting of a sponge-type flexible material is arranged as applicator body rotatably on an axle (13) which is approximately coaxial with or axially parallel to the axis (A) of the handle (11) and is preferably constructed as a tube with a tube space (16) which opens out at one end into an inside space (41) of the handle (11) which itself is hollow.
