PURPOSE:To assure grip while to eliminate excessive biting thus to prevent slip by arranging countless micro projections having predetermined height and shorter height alternatively in circumferential direction and axial direction on the surface of roller. CONSTITUTION:Countless projections 2 are formed through edging onto the surface of tubular body 1 having right circle cross-section made of stainless steel or special steel having the thickness of 0.3-0.6mmt and the hardness higher than HV500 where high and low projections 2a, 2b of mesa type are arranged alternatively in the rotary direction A of roller and the axial direction B of roller. Here, the height of higher and lower projections 2a, 2b are made to be 0.21mm, 0.06mm respectively while the pitch is made to be 0.5-0.7mm. An edge angle is formed substantially at the jointing face between the top face of projection 2 and the rising sideface where respective projection 2 has the projected axis passing through the axis of tubular body 1 and the root section between the projection 2 is curved in arch. Consequently, the higher projection will bite into the paper while the lower projection will support the paper to prevent excessive biting of higher projection resulting in prevension of paper slip.
