PURPOSE:To attain the free change of the image position on a recording medium with no change of the input image data, by using a dot image development means, a dot image memory means, an original point address memory means and an original point address rewriting means which rewrites an original point address into an optional address. CONSTITUTION:The data supplied from outside are stored to an input buffer 22. A CPU21 analyzes the input data stored in the buffer 22 and converts them into the print data. These print data are stored to a page buffer 23. Then an image development circuit 24 refers to an original point register 27 to develop the print data stored in the buffer 23 to the dot images. These dot images are stored to an image buffer 25. A video signal generator 26 converts the dot images stored in the buffer 25 into video signals and transmits them to an LD driver 2. The video signals of the driver 2 are converted into an intermitted laser beam 4 and forms a latent image on the drum 6 after undergoing the scan through a scanner 5. Then the latent image on the drum 6 is turned into a toner image by an electronic photographic process.
