Heterocyclic amides of phenoxyphenoxy alkanoic acids (I) [X = halogen, trifluoromethyl; Y = hydrogen, halogen, nitrogen, cyano; R1 = lower alkyl; R2 = hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, aryl; R3 = lower alkyl, halogen; m = 0, 1, 2 are prepd. for use as selective weed killer. Compds (II) are reacted with amine in an inert organic solvent at -30≦̸C - room temp. to give the title compds (I).
