PURPOSE:To allow an owner to confirm the contents of a message generated during his absence by a telephone of a destination without carrying and using a special apparatus, by attaching a device for recognizing owner's voice, to an automatic answering the telephone set, discriminating the owner and the third party at the time of a call, and constituting it so as to decide that a call from the owner being in the absence is a confirmation request. CONSTITUTION:In case when an owner has executed a call to a telephone set 1 in order to confirm the contents of a message generated during hits absence by a telephone set 10, a voice recognizing device 15 executes a preparation for an operation based on an operation of a central control device 14, and when a transmitter utters voice, the recognizing device 15 informs it to the central control device 14, decides that the call is a confirmation request of the contents of the message, starts an automatic answering telephone set 2, and sends out the contents of the message generated during the absence, which have been brought to sound recording, to the telephone set 10. In this way, the owner can confirm the contents of the message recorded in the automatic answering telephone set 2 by only using the telephone set 10 of his destination.
