PURPOSE:To improve the function of a photosensitive cell o low density up to a level equivalent to that of a photosensitive cell of high density, by providing a light shielding mask having a lighting window of a smaller area than the photosensitive cell at the front of the photosensitive cell and shifting a photosensitive device element at least in the 1-dimensional direction. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding mask 15 containing lighting windows 1-1-6-1 of a diameter (a) smaller than the area of the CCD photosensitive cell is provided at the front of those CCD photosensitive cells 1-6. The electric charge product at the cells 1-6 is extracted to the outside through shirt registers 7-14. Here only the beam supplied through the windows 1-1-6-1 are made incident on the cells 1-6. In this respect, the desired information on images are obtained by shifting entirely a photosensitive device element 16. The output converted into the electric signal I0 is converted into the digital quantity by an A/D converter 22 and then converted again into the electric signal having an improved S/N after undergoing the integration and detection through an integrator 23. |
