NEW MATERIAL:Differanisole A of the formula. USE:It is used as an antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A microorganism in Chaetomium, capable of producing differanisole A, preferably Chaetomium sp. RB-001 (FERM P-8021) is cultured and the compound of the formula is separated and collected from the culture mixture. As culture nutrients, glucose and cellulose are cited as carbon source and soybean flour or peanuts flour is used as a nitrogen source. The medium is, in general, usually liquid and the cultivation is conducted, preferably under aerobic conditions. For example, the pH of the culture medium is kept weakly acidic to neutral, preferably 6-7pH and the temperature is preferably 25-30 deg.C. |
