PURPOSE:To house a solid type dummy bar with a simple and inexpensive mechanism by capturing the dummy bar by means of a pin at the top end of a swiveling lever which overlaps and crosses the orbit of the bar, pulling up the dummy bar by an air cylinder interlocked to pinch rolls and disconnecting the dummy bar from an ingot by a hold-down roll. CONSTITUTION:The solid type dummy bar 1 fed by the pinch rolls 3 is risen by guide rollers 5, 6 along the curving thereof. The central locus of a cylinder 12 at the top end of the swiveling lever 7 overlaps and crosses the central locus of the dummy bar 1. The top end of the bar 1 is captured by a roller 16 and a hole 15 is detained by a pin 14 of the cylinder 12. The bar 1 is pulled up by the operation of a cylinder 9 interlocked to the driving of the rollers 3 and the bar 1 is disconnected from the ingot 2 by the reduction of the hold- down roller 4. The disconnected bar is quickly pulled up by the cylinder 9. The bar 1 is housed by the device of simple and inexpensive mechanism. The insertion of the bar 1 is executed by the operation reverse from the above- mentioned operation. |
