PURPOSE:To avoid unforeseen pressure-connecting motion by stopping the detection of sensor while the part becoming thick more than two times of the thickness of a small diameter cylindrical part is passed through a light transmitting position on the thick part in the light transmitting direction by the sensor. CONSTITUTION:The detecting operation of a sensor is stopped while the part 1h becoming thick more than two times of the thickness t of a small diameter cylindrical part 1b on the thick part 1H in the light transmitting direction of the upper side in transferring direction among the peripheral wall of the small diameter cylindrical part 1b of each terminal with insulating coating in a connection body is moved with passing through the light transmitting position by a sensor. The state of the detecting operation of the sensor is maintained besides the above. The sensor is thus kept in the state of non- detecting operation without fail while the thick part where the transmitting light by the sensor might by shut off moves with passing through the light transmitting position and the pressure connection operation is performed at the prescribed timing with the detecting operation of the sensor as prescribed, when the bare terminal of electric wire is inserted into a sleeve.
