PURPOSE:To transfer data in quick response to printing speed of a printing means by providing a readout control means to store image dot information temporarily in a pattern buffer, read stored image dot information and transfer the information to an image memory according to printing control data. CONSTITUTION:A processor 8 accesses a character generator 9 to read font data and modification image dot information into a word boundary. At the same time, it also performs arithmetic operation on a physical address for font data in accordance with printing control data referring to a table memory 7. A pattern buffer 10 memorizes every word of image dot information deployed in the character generator 9 and modification image dot information to image dot information. An image memory 11 gives and receives font data and modification image dot information in response to a physical address which was arithmetically operated by the processor 8 by word unit (2 bytes). A printing block 12 reads image dot information stored in the image memory 11, printing an image. |
