PURPOSE:To prevent a paper form being needlessly supplied, by a construction wherein the distance from a turning point of a pawl-turning part to a pawl hole is set to be larger than a pawl displacement corresponding to an allowable reverse rotation quantity at the time of printing which is determined in the reverse rotating direction, and a guide means for guiding a latch pawl from the turning point to the pawl hole is provided. CONSTITUTION:In the process of printing on a paper brought to a printing position, when back line feeding by a predetermined allowable amount is performed under the condition where a home position of a clutch is not maintained, for example, where the tip 6a of the latch pawl is located on the immediate downstream of a turning part 10 in the forward rotating direction, the tip 6a of the pawl is turned into a zone II by a turning surface 10a, but since the distance from the turning point to the pawl hole 11 (the circumferential length corresponding to a rotating angle theta) is larger than the length corresponding to the predetermined back line feed quantity, a clutch is not engaged by engagement of the tip 6a of the pawl into the pawl hole 11. |
