PURPOSE:To obtain the inexpensive carbon material hardly causing contamination of metal and alloys by impurities by pickling fine breeze with a prescribed grain size and smaller yielded at the coke making so as to restrict CaO+MgO in ash content to a specific value or below. CONSTITUTION:The fine breeze with <=0.2mm grain size yielded in the cooling stage at the coke making and low in price because of its narrow range of effective application for general purpose is subjected to fractional extraction. Its largeness in specific surface area is taken advantage of to be pickled so as to restrict the CaO+MgO in ash content to <=3%. In this way, removal of component P, removal of component S by vaporization at the combustion, or the like are made possible. Succeedingly, the breeze is separated from an acid solution, which is washed with water well to form into a product.
