PURPOSE:To produce suction noise without affecting engine performance by forming an air intake port with a duct, and providing an acoustic material layer on the inner surface of the duct. CONSTITUTION:Air intake ports respectively formed by a duct 3 are provided at two positions on the upper side of a cleaner element 2 installed in a casing 1. In addition, an air outlet 4 is provided on the lower side of the cleaner element 2, which outlet 4 is connected to a carburetor 5 is connected to a suction port of an engine. A layer 6 of an acoustic material such as urethane foam is provided on the inner surface of the duct 3, while an aggregate 7 comprising a punching plate is provided on the inner surface of the layer 6 to prevent the acoustic material 6 from being deformed. Hereby, a suction sound can be attenuated, which is produced owing to air vibration and chatter of the casing 1 without substantially changing a shape of the air cleaner. |
