PURPOSE:To prevent air from mixing into cooling water on circulation, and to enhance the cooling efficiency of an engine, by providing an auxiliary cooling system in addition to a main cooling system through which cooling water circulates, so that steam generated in the main cooling system is led into the auxiliary cooling system for liquefying steam, and liquefied cooling water is returned into the main cooling system. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of cooling water is adjusted by a thermostat 7, and cooling water is circulated between a water jacket 3 in a main cooling system 4 and a radiator 5 in association with the drive of a water pump 8. Further, steam generated in the main cooling system is separated in a gas-water separator 6 and led into an auxiliary cooling system 10 in which the introduced steam is liquefied by a condenser 11 and is reserved in a cooling water tank 10. Thereafter, when the level of reserved cooling water exceeds a predetermined level, which is detected by a water level sensor 14, a control valve 13 is opened to return cooling water along into a water passage 4a. With this arrangement to steam mixes into cooling water on circulation in the main cooling system 4, thereby cooling may be surely made. |
