PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and to simplify the construction of a pickup driving device by driving a pickup driving external thread shaft by a high speed and a low speed stepping motors connected to both ends thereof respectively. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of an external thread shaft 10 for driving and controlling a pickup device 17, respectively are connected to a high speed stepping motor 3 and a low speed stepping motor 5. The shaft 10 is rotated by the electrically separated motor 3 or the motor 5. For these members, a clutch, a final reduction gear and the like are not required, the number of the parts are reduced, and the construction of the pickup driving device can be simplified.
