PURPOSE:To obtain a coating having superior impact resistance by setting a converter wall with its raw material-charging side down, charging numerous pigs into the residual slag so as to be buried there, and sticking the slag onto the wall. CONSTITUTION:On setting the wall of a converter body 1 with its raw material- charging side 5 down, the residual slag 6 from the preceding charge stays on the raw material-charging side wall 5 which is to be coated. Pigs 7 are charged into the residual slag 6 and buried there, onto which baking material 8 is further charged if necessary. On keeping the converter body 1 stationary for 30-40min in this state, the slag sticks onto the wall 5 to form the coating. |
