PURPOSE:To provide an electric discharge control means to eliminate nozzle clogging and enable clear and high density recording by installing continuously a liquid forming means to form a colorless liquid membrane containing no solid substance at room temperature, a space having a discharging electrode and an ink chamber storing conductive solid ink. CONSTITUTION:Conductive solid ink 1 is pressed toward an opening 3 direction by the action of a spring 5 and held contacting the wall of a squeeze-in part. A discharging electrode 7 is arranged in a space 6 formed between the conductive solid ink 1 and the opening 3. An electric discharge control means 8 is composed of a high-tension generator 9 and a high-tension generation control circuit 10 which controls high-tension generation in accordance with a recording signal. A liquid layer 14 is formed by two walls 12, 13 of a liquid layer forming means 11 with an opening 15 provided where said layer contacts the opening 3 in the wall 12. Also in the wall 13, an opening 16 is provided on the same axis as the opening 3 and the opening 15. Liquid forming a liquid membrane 14 remains liquid even at unit-operating temperatures, generally ranging from 0-60 deg.C, and should be one which does not deposit any solid substance by evaporation. |
