PURPOSE:To improve operation performance during transient operation of an engine with a supercharger, by a method wherein a basic fuel amount during constant operation is determined according to an engine load, and the basic fuel amount is corrected by a correction fuel amount determined according to an exhaust gas pressure. CONSTITUTION:During operation of an engine 1, a basic fuel amount Ti is read out by an ECU5 based on an engine load determined from outputs Ne and PBA from a sensor 11 for the number of revolutions and absolute pressure sensors 9 and 9'. Thereafter, an exhaust gas pressure reference PEXS responding to said data Ne and PBA is read out from a map, and a back-pressure correcting factor CEX responding to the Ne is read out from a given table. A fuel amount, equivalent to a change during constant operation during transient operation, i.e., a back pressure correcting valve opening time TiEX is calculated based on said data PEXS, and CEX and a exhaust gas pressure value PEX by a gas pressure sensor 13, and a fuel injection valve 6 is controlled through correction of the basic fuel amount Ti according to the fuel amount TiEX.
