AUTOMATIC TRIMMING LAYOUT METHOD OF PRINT ENGRAVING

PURPOSE:To easily obtain an accurate layout in a short time without requiring any special display monitor by specifying a trimming range on the basis of information obtained by an allocation position data generating means and inputting image data according to allocation position data. CONSTITUTION:An original 2 is fitted around a scanning drum 1 to which a rotary encoder 3 is fitted to read image data. A linear encoder 4 for generating axial position data on the drum 1 is combined with a scanning head 13 to obtain position data on the scanning head on the drum 1 by encoders 3 and 4. This data is sent to a controller 5 to which a memory 6, a data tablet 7, and a trimming range projecting device 11 are connected together with the image data from the original 2 and then stored in the memory 6. Further, allocation base paper 8 is set on the tablet 7 and magnification is inputted to the controller 5 with a cursor 9 by using position data on the allocation base paper and the numeric data input element of a menu area 10. Consequently, the position data and allocation information on the magnification are inputted as signals to the trimming range projecting device.
