PURPOSE:To obtain a head suitable for a video tape at low cost by forming one of a couple of head chips with a ferrite having iron oxide as the major component and the other with a metal-made magnetic material such as Sendust as raw materials. CONSTITUTION:Head chips 5, 6 of a double azimuth head have respectively planes 8, 9 on which each chip opposite face is in parallel and the interval S of the magnetic gaps 11, 12 formed to the chips 5, 6 is several hundreds mu. Coil windows 13, 14 are formed near the magnetic gaps 11, 12, notches 15, 16 are formed to opposite ends of the chips 5, 6, and a couple of coil 18, 19 are wound nearly in parallel with tape abutting faces 20, 21. The magnetic gaps 11, 12 of the chips 5, 6 are tilted in positive and negative directions by theta(in this case 10 deg.) respectively, and one chip 5 is made of a ferrite having iron oxide as the major component and used for normal recording/reproduction, and the other chip 6 is made of 'Sendust(R)' and used for still picture and slow reproduction. |
