PURPOSE:To enable proper execution of selection of the transmission timings and transmission gears, by plotting a torque curve on a display plate indicating torque values at respective revolutions of the engine centered on the pivotal fulcrum of a pointer. CONSTITUTION:A torque curve 13 is printed on a display plate 10 indicating torque values at respective revolutions of the engine centered on the fulcrum of a pointer 11 while a plurality of scale marks 14... indicating the magnitude of the torque values are printed concentrically centered on the pivoted fulcrum of the pointer 11. The engine tachometer 4 thus arranged can show that the maximum torque is generated at 11,000r.p.m. in the revolutions of the engine. Thus, torque values at respective revolutions can be read quickly at a glance by the pointer 11 which is shifted rotatably on the display plate 10 thereby enabling proper selection of transmission timings and transmission gears.
