PURPOSE:To obtain a wide range of correct toner concn. and to permit development without control of the concn. by using a developer whose specific dielectric constant of a magnetic carrier and the specific dielectric constant of a magnetic toner are approximately equal. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic toner sticks more on the surface of a photosensitive body 3 and the image density increases with an increase in electric field intensity. On the other hand, the deposition of the magnetic toner decreases and the image density decreases with a decrease in the electric field intensity. Whereas, the specific dielectric constants of the magnetic toner and magnetic carrier are made approximately equal and therefore the specific dielectric constant over the entire part of a developer layer 2 is substantially the same. The electric field intensity which acts on the magnetic toner is thereby made constant and there is substantially no fluctuation of the developing characteristic and the developing density is constant. The good image is thus maintained even if a control device for toner density is not used. |
