PURPOSE:To detect the softening of ice cream in the freezing cylinder of an ice cream freezer, accurately, by counting the dispensing times in the dispense of ice cream with a dispenser, and judging that the ice cream is in softened state when the count does not reach the prescribed number within a specific period. CONSTITUTION:In the dispensing of ice cream from the freezing cylinder with a dispenser, the dispensing times in a definite period are counted by the counter circuit 18 and the timer circuit 17. When the elapse of the preset period is detected by the timer circuit 17 before the specific dispensing time by counted by the counter circuit 18, the LED16 is lighted by the flip-flop circuit 19 and the transistor 23 to indicate the softened state of the ice cream. At the same time, the cooling operation is stopped, the freezing cylinder is heated to melt the softened soft cream and the freezing operation is started again.
