PURPOSE:To economically treat waste, by separating waste into a liquid component consisting of an aqueous component and an oily component and a solid component by applying heat treatment to said waste under pressure and applying vacuum treatment to the solid component. CONSTITUTION:Waste is boiled under pressure in a heat treatment container 4 by steam from a boiler 5 to be separated into a solid component and a liquid component while the latter is withdrawn to be introduced into a separation tank 6. After the liquid component was withdrawn from the heat treatment container 4, said container 4 is evacuated to evaporate moisture in the solid component. The liquid component is separated into oil and water in the separation tank and the aqueous component of the lower layer is transported to a storage tank 23 by a pump 22 and, next, the oil component is stored in a product tank 27 while the suspended substance is removed by a filter 26.
