PURPOSE:To improve productivity of streptomycin as a secondary metabolic product, by cloning a streptomycin biosynthesis gene of a specific streptomycin producing bacterium. CONSTITUTION:A DNA chain having an equivalence to a DNA fragment derived from chromosome DNA of streptomycin producing bacterium in hybrid plasmied pSSB1 having 15.6Kb molecular weight, consisting of digestion fragment PstI of chromosome DNA of a streptomycin producing bacterium (e.g., Streptomyces bikiniensis IPO13350 strain) and digestion fragment PstI of pIJ385 plasmied DNA, having restriction enzyme scission site shown by the figure. The DNA chain related to streptomycin biosynthesis can be assimilated for improvement in production of streptomycin producing Streptomyces by using recombinant DNA rechnique. |
