PURPOSE:To form a cathode-ray tube with stable quality by processing characters and symbols, using laser lights, on a part of the outer wall of the cathode ray tube and attaching ink thereon and then reading out them to assemble the cathode ray tube automatically. CONSTITUTION:On a part of the side wall 4 of the face plate 2 of a cathode ray tube 2, a reference number indicating a tube kind of the cathode ray tube 6, a number indicating a manufacturing order, and figures 3 indicating a manufacturing day/month/year or the like are formed in depth of tens to hundreds mum using CO2 gas laser lights by a trimming apparatus. Then, after applying heat-resisting ink and removing the extra ink except the figures 3, an automatic assembling of the cathode ray tube is performed by computer control in which figures 3 are read out. After finishing assembling, the ink of the figures 3 is removed with a concave-ink-removal apparatus so that the screen is not affected. Therefore, quality guarantee can be realized, with a manufacturing line being automated. |
