PURPOSE:To obtain the titled hearth roll for stably transferring a metallic strip by sealing a molten metal in the internal space of the body of a roll so as to reduce a temp. difference in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A molten metal 7 is sealed in the internal space 6b of the body 6a of a hearth roll 6. It is preferable that the molten metal 7 is liq. during operation, and Sn, Pb, Bi or the like is used as the metal. By the rotation of the roll 6, the molten metal 7 moves in the space 6b and acts as a heat medium to make the temp. distribution of the roll 6 in the axial direction nearly uniform and to maintain a proper extent of a roll crown. When the hearth roll 6 is used, the weaving and heat buckling of a metallic strip are prevented. |
