PURPOSE:To expand ends of a heat exchanger tune accurately and surely by inserting a bar-shaped jig for keeping a position of the tube which has a projecting part sized to a specified tube projecting height into an inlet header and abutting the projecting part on the inside wall of the header at a position being apart from the outside surface of the heat exchanger tube. CONSTITUTION:The bar-shaped jig 20a which keeps a position of the tube is moved by a cylinder 24 in the lateral direction to the axis of the jig 20a to locate the top projecting part 23a in a position which is inner from the outside of the heat exchanger tube 2. The jig 20a is inserted into the inlet header 3 through an expanding work hole 5 by a hydraulic cylinder 14 for setting of the projecting height of the tube. Then the jig 20a is moved in the lateral direction to the axis of the jig 20a to a position being outer from the outside surface of the tube 2. In that position, the projecting part 23a is abutted on the inside surface 3a of the header 3 and is pressed to the top surface 22a of the tube 2. The height of the projecting part 23a is et to the specified tube projecting size A, so that projection of the tube 2 to the specified height A from the inside surface 4a of the header 4 is performed and expansion of the tube is performed accurately. |
