PURPOSE:To produce a patterned Al material which is stable and distinct and has excellent designing property by forming an anodically oxidized film on the surface of Al or Al alloy, bringing transfer paper on which a dye to be gasified by heating is printed into contact with the surface of such film and heating the same. CONSTITUTION:The anodically oxidized film is formed on the surface of the Al or Al alloy and if necessary the film is colored by a spontaneous color forming, electrolytic color forming or electrolytic coloring method, etc. The film is further half-sealed, if necessary. The transfer paper on which the dye to be gasified by heating is brought into contact with the above-mentioned film surface and is heated. The gasified surface is thereby penetrated and adsorbed into the porous layer of the above-mentioned film. The film is thereafter subjected to a sealing treatment or to transparent or semi-transparent color clear top coating, if necessary. The Al material for building provided with the fine and stable pattern having the high designing property is thus inexpensively obtd. with good workability and yield.
