PURPOSE:To produce efficiently a lightweight metallic mold for a short period by fitting and fastening temporally a half of a product model to the aperture surface on one side of a preliminarily manufactured cylindrical frame body and spraying thermally metallic mold material powder from the aperture surface on the other side of the frame body toward the product model surface. CONSTITUTION:A parting plate 3 for forming a vertical line 2c having a pinch-off 2a and a deflashing part 2b is attached to the circumferential surface in the intermediate part of the product model (a). Part of the plate 3 is notched and a linear 5 for molding a nozzle part is fastened temporally to the notch. Vent hole forming parts 4 are attached to the outside surface in the intermediate part. The half of such model (a) is inserted and temporally fastened to the aperture surface on one side of the preliminarily manufactured cylindrical frame body 6 and thereafter the metallic mold material powder is thermally sprayed from the aperture surface on the other side of the frame body 6 to form a sprayed layer (l) having the specified layer thickness integrally with the body 6. The temporarily fixed model (a) is separated after curing of the sprayed layer (l) and the lightweight metallic mold of the half split type having the product forming part is thus formed. |
