PURPOSE:To improve the sealing property between a cell body and a manifold by forming a gasket with a sealing material and a frame-like plate having the thermal expansion coefficient approximately equal to that of the cell body. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 3 is formed with a sealing material 6 and a frame-like plate 7 having the thermal expansion coefficient approximately equal to that of the cell body 1. As the sealing material 6, a filler such as mixed tacky material of an inorganic material and a polymer material is good, and the sealing material 6 is pressed to and closely contacted with the laminated surface of a unit cell by means of the frame-like plate 7. The frame-like plate 7 has the thermal expansion coefficient 2-5X10<-6>/ deg.C which is approximately equal to that of the cell body 1, and the frame-like plate has acid resistance against phosphoric acid which is an electrolyte, and further the frame-like plate has a heat resisting property against the operating temperatures 190-205 deg.C of the cell, and for example, the frame-like plate is formed with carbon which is the same material in quality as the cell body 1. |
