PURPOSE:To start the business recording operation immediately after the end of transmission of a response message by discriminating the end of transmission of the response message when the address generated by an address generating means coincides with the address, which is preliminarily stored and corresponds to the end of the message, at the response message reproducing time. CONSTITUTION:An address pulse AP outputted from an address pulse generating circuit 18 is inputted to a control circuit 20 in the reproducing operation state, and the counted-up recording address is compared with the recording position address which is stored in an internal memory and indicates the terminal recording position of the response message itself. If the coincidence is discriminated as the result of this comparison, the control circuit 20 judges that the transmission of the response message is terminated, and the circuit 20 forwards this recording tape fast. That is, the fast-forwarding operation is started immediately without reproducing a no-sound recording part. Then, the business coming from an originating subscriber through a line 1 is recorded.
