PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as antimicrobial agent at low temperature in a short time in high yield, by reacting a pentavalent organic phosphorous compound with a triphenylmethanol in the presence of triphenyl phosphite. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formula I [R1 is 1-imidazolyl; R2 and R3 are 1-imidazolyl or (R4)R5)N-(R4 and R5 are lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, or R4 and R5 together with N are bonded to form ring) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula II (X is H, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, aryl, etc.) in the presence of triphenyl phosphite in a solvent such as DMF, chloroform, etc., at its boiling point, to give a compound shown by the formula III.
